Text Format

Exports a text version of a Batch Folder or Batch Page, generated from OCR data or native text attachments.

Remarks

The Text Format export produces a plain text file containing the recognized or extracted text from a document or folder.

Overview

• If the item is a Batch Folder with a native text attachment (such as a .txt file), the attachment is exported as plain text.
• Otherwise, the text is generated from OCR data associated with the item and exported as a .txt file.
• The output file is named using the item's display name, with a .txt extension.

Usage

1. Select Text Format as the export format in your export activity.
2. For native text documents, use the 'Attached File' export to preserve the original file if needed.
3. For OCR-generated text, ensure the Recognize activity has been performed prior to export.

When to Use

• When you need a plain text representation of document content for integration, search, or downstream processing.
• For exporting OCR results as text files.
• When delivering or archiving the extracted text from scanned or digital documents.
