PDF Document - Repair

PDF Document Command Grooper.Core

Repairs PDF files which contain minor errors.

Remarks

The Repair command attempts to fix structural or content errors in the attached PDF Document for a Batch Folder.

  • If the PDF contains minor errors (such as missing objects, cross-reference issues, or invalid streams), the command will attempt to repair the file in place.
  • If the PDF cannot be repaired directly and is enabled, the command will rasterize each page to an image and reconstruct a new PDF from the rendered images. This ensures that even severely damaged or non-standard PDFs can be recovered, though text and interactive features may be lost.
  • The repaired or rasterized PDF replaces the original attachment on the Batch Folder.

Usage Scenarios

  • Use this command when a PDF cannot be opened, viewed, or processed due to corruption or format errors.
  • Enable to recover content from PDFs that cannot be repaired structurally, at the cost of converting pages to images.
  • Typical in workflows where PDFs are received from unreliable sources or legacy systems.

This command is available from the context menu of a Batch Folder with a PDF Document attachment.
