Lexicon - Truncate

Lexicon Command Grooper.Core

Truncates the lexicon to the top N entries.

Remarks

The Truncate command reduces the number of entries in the selected Lexicon to a specified maximum. This is useful for managing very large lexicons, improving performance, or preparing a subset of entries for export or review.

When to Use

  • To limit the size of a Lexicon for performance or memory considerations.
  • When you need to with only the most commonly-encountered words in a frequency lexicon, to improve the performance of fuzzy matching.

How It Works

  • The command keeps only the first N entries in the Lexicon, as determined by the current ordering.
  • All other entries are permanently removed.
  • The operation cannot be undone, so review your configuration and consider exporting a backup before truncating.
