Lexicon - Intersect

Lexicon Command Grooper.Core

Creates a new lexicon containing all entries which appear both in this lexicon and a reference lexicon.

Remarks

The Intersect command generates a new Lexicon containing only the entries that are present in both the selected Lexicon and a specified reference Lexicon. This is useful for identifying common values, synchronizing dictionaries, or preparing a focused subset for review or export.

When to Use

  • To find the overlap between two Lexicons, such as shared codes, terms, or values.
  • When you need to create a new Lexicon that contains only entries validated or approved in both sources.
  • For quality control, deduplication, or harmonization of multiple dictionaries.

How It Works

  • Select the source Lexicon and specify a reference Lexicon using the 'Reference Lexicon' property.
  • Provide a name for the new Lexicon using the 'New Lexicon Name' property.
  • The command creates a new Lexicon in the same folder as the source, containing only the entries found in both.
  • If no matching entries are found, the command will not create a new Lexicon and will display an error.

> Note: The new Lexicon is independent and can be edited, exported, or used like any other Lexicon.
