File System Link - Copy File

Copies the file to a directory location on the file system.

Remarks

The Copy File command copies the external file to a specified directory, creating a duplicate of the file on disk. The original File System Link remains unchanged. If a file with the same name exists in the target directory, it will be overwritten.

• Use this command to archive, backup, or distribute files as part of your workflow.
• The link continues to reference the original file location.
• Ensure the target directory exists and is accessible.

EditorFile Directory Editor The 'Target Folder' property specifies the destination directory on disk where the file will be copied. The file will retain its original name. > Example: C:\Archive\2024\Invoices If a file with the same name exists in the target directory, it will be overwritten. The File System Link will continue to reference the original file.
